Fat Burning Foods
There are many different natural fat burning foods commonly available to consumers today. Although there is no sure fire quick fix that works for everybody, there is enough of a selection that the interested individual can choose from a tun of different options and hopefully find a selection of fat burning foods that works well for them. There are two main categories of fat burning foods, and depending on your personal preferences you will want to choose accordingly. In the first category are natural fat burning foods that are un processed, and in their raw form. These fat burning foods are probably the easiest to incorporate in to your regular daily diet, and consequently the least expensive. The other option available to consumers consists of foods processed in a way, or contain ingredients that they are pro ported to burn fat. These tend to be more expensive then the natural fat burning foods counterparts, as most processed foods are, so we will limit the scope of this conversation to natural fat burning foods. Foods burn fat by one of two methods, either they accelerate the body's metabolism, or they are so complex to digest that it takes more energy to digest them then they actually hold. While the second of the two options is a more reliable mechanism to judge fat burning foods by; the sad fact remains that these foods only consume a very modest margin of extra energy during digestion, so the first mechanism, raising the metabolic rate, is a better alternative. Very little of the world is black and white however, and learning the shades of gray is always the most successful strategy, so a combination of the two categories of fat burning foods is likely to get you the best results. Fat burning foods that burn more calories during digestion then they contain are generally high in two things, fiber and water. Celery is a good example. Celery is an excellent vegetable for people on a diet not only because it takes a lot of chewing to process the food, but also because of its high water and fiber content. There are very few calories in fiber, and no calories in water, so the process of digesting all of this fiber uses more calories then the food contains. Other foods like this are lettuce and to a lesser extent spinach. Fat burning foods that raise the metabolism include most foods high in antioxidants. It is still unclear why this is the case, but science has shown that foods rich in life protecting antioxidants raise the metabolism with some degree of regularity. The easiest foods to remember that are high in antioxidants are the dark berries. Blueberries, black berries, and acia berries contain some of the most antioxidants found anywhere, thus making them great potential fat burning foods. Traditional Chinese herbalists, and to some extent western doctors, believe that cyan pepper and garlic are important fat burning foods. There is little known about this phenomenon, however it is widely held in Chinese tradition that spicy foods are fat burning foods. Perhaps that is why Asian cultures cook with so much pepper, garlic, and ginger. No matter what fat burning foods you choose to eat, it is still important to follow proper diet and exercise advice. Taking a multivitamin is also a good strategy to complement the fat burning foods you eat; just to make sure that you are receiving well rounded nutritional content. And remember, just because you are burning fat with fat burning foods, you are not toning muscle by sitting on your bottom. Burning fat is useless without the exercise to firm up the rest of your body. |
