This means that while you will be eating less, you will be putting on more weight. If you want to speed up metabolism the healthy way and keep it at a high rate, you should aim to decrease your calorie intake by as little as 5% per day until you have achieved a 25% decrease at least. Your metabolism might take a little while to get used to the decreased calorie intake, but it will respond a lot faster than if you had gone on a crash diet. Remember that you cannot speed up metabolism simply by exercising more or eating less. You need to follow a strictly regimented diet and a thorough cardio exercise plan.
